Dropkick Murphys is a Boston-based punk rock band that formed in 1996. The seven-member group is known for their unique blend of Irish folk and rock music. Their breakthrough album, “The Gang’s All Here,” was released in 1999, which featured songs like “Blood and Whiskey” and “The Fighting 69th.” The band’s popularity continued to grow with their hit single “I’m Shipping Up to Boston,” featured in the movie “The Departed.” Dropkick Murphys are also known for their philanthropy, with their charitable foundation, the Claddagh Fund, providing support for children’s and veterans’ causes.
