Quick Answers
Wrap a soft tape measure loosely around the lower part of your dog’s neck. For martingale collars, also measure the widest part of your dog’s head. No tape measure? Use a piece of string and then lay it flat against a ruler. If you are still unsure, include your dog’s exact neck measurement in the order notes or email us.
- X-Small 8" to 12" (toy breeds under 12 lbs)
- Small 12" to 15" (small dogs 15 to 30 lbs)
- Medium 14" to 18" (medium dogs 30 to 45 lbs)
- Large 17" to 24" (large dogs 45 to 70 lbs)
- X-Large 20" to 29" (extra-large dogs 70 to 100 lbs)
- XX-Large 28" to 34" (giant breeds)
*Note that long-necked breeds like Greyhounds and Whippets do not follow the weight guide. Always trust the neck measurement.
Cut a paper strip at the width you want and place it around your dog’s neck. As a rule, 1" collars fit dogs under 30 lbs. Collars 1.5" or 2" wide work best for dogs over 50 lbs or long-neck breeds.
